Dr. Chairul Hudaya is an accomplished academic and energy systems expert whose career spans education, research, and impactful innovation. He holds a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from Universitas Indonesia, a Master’s in Energy Systems Engineering from Seoul National University, and a Ph.D. in Energy and Environmental Engineering from the University of Science and Technology – Korea Institute of Science and Technology. A lecturer at UI since 2009, he has held various leadership roles and served as Rector of Sumbawa University of Technology (2020–2024), where he pioneered community-focused technologies such as solar-powered cold storage, electric bicycles (NgebUTS), and the portable solar energy storage system Tabung Listrik (TaLis). In 2024, he became Head of the Department of Interdisciplinary Engineering at UI and currently leads the Directorate of High-Impact Innovation and Research, driving interdisciplinary research, technology transfer, and innovation commercialization to address societal and economic challenges. Author of over 100 scientific publications, his research covers energy storage, renewable energy, and sustainable power systems. His contributions have earned him multiple honors, including the Rector as Academic Leader Award from Indonesia’s Ministry of Education (2023) and the ASEAN Young Scientist and Technologist Award (2017).
